The Mortlake Visual Arts Group (MVAG) operates under the auspices of the Mortlake Community Development Committee (MCDC).

It meets on a monthly basis and workshops range from free-form experiences to instructional workshops with recognised artists.

The annual Mortlake Art Show is held on the Queen's Birthday Weekend and attracts entries from all around the country.

• The Mortlake & District Historical Society (MDHS) meets on a monthly basis at The Ark in Shaw Street.
• With a strong online and local support base the MDHS collects, preserves, and disseminates historical material from Mortlake and its districts. ​
