Mortlake Art Show
The Art Show aims to inspire, encourage, and develop local artist talent. Held annually over the Queen's Birthday long weekend the Art Show attracts over 300 visitors across the weekend with over 100 art works usually on display. The opening evening of the Art Show is held on the Friday of the long weekend, with the Show open to the general public on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. In 2016 entry to the Show for artists is FREE with four prize categories (should artists wish to have their works included in the judging). Friday 10 June, between 6 pm and 8 pm - Tickets are $25 per head payable at the door. Canapes and alcoholic beverages provided. Open Mic Night
Soldiers Memorial Hall The Saturday evening of the Queen's Birthday long weekend sees a massive musical event staged in Mortlake. The expansive stage at the large public hall in town becomes a platform for upcoming local artists (primarily of a musical nature) to demonstrate their talents. Saturday 11th June at 6.00pm. Bands, solo performers, storytellers, poets and spectators of all ages, talent and experience are welcome. Walk-ups welcome on the night. Gold coin entry. Anglican Church Book Fair
Held on the Sunday of the Queen's Birthday long weekend the Anglican Church Book Fair brings together readers of all ages. Books can be bought and sold at the Fair with proceeds going to support the Mortlake Anglican Church. Book Fair will be at the St James' Parish Hall on Saturday & Sunday 10 am-4 pm; Monday 10 am -3 pm. Cake stall, raffle, and be serving a continuous morning/afternoon Devonshire-style tea, tea/coffee, scones with cream & jam (YUMMO!!) |
